United States lawmakers have drawn up a resolution condemning China over Hong Kong rights
On Friday, the US House of Representatives introduced a bipartisan resolution condemning the actions of the Chinese government and local authorities in Hong Kong which they said violated rights and freedoms in the city.
Lawmakers in the House of Representatives reintroduced a bipartisan bill on Thursday that would ban imports from China'sXinjiang region unless it is certified non-production through forced labor, and allow new sanctions to be imposed on Chinese officials responsible for abuses against Uighur Muslims.
Among the main sponsors of the Hong Kong resolution introduced on Friday are Rep. Greg Meeks, the Democratic chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Representative Michael McCall, the most senior Republican on the committee.
