The $ 1.9 trillion aid bill being considered by the Senate contains about $ 10 billion for the global response to the COVID-19 outbreak, including several hundreds of millions for pandemic-related efforts that are far-reaching both nationally and internationally.
The first, Section 10001, is allocating $ 204 million for State Department operations that "prevent, prepare, and respond to the Coronavirus domestically or internationally" through September 2022.
An additional $ 41 million has been made available under Section 10002 to cover domestic or international operating expenses related to COVID-19 from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the lead agency responsible for administering the aid.
