South Dakota Gov. will sign a bill barring biological men from practicing female sports
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem announced Monday night that she will sign a bill restricting girls' sport to only biological women.
“In South Dakota, we celebrate #InternationalWomensDay by advocating for women's sports! The Republican governor declared, 'I'm excited to get this bill signed very soon.' '
According to the bill (pdf), any sports team in a public school for women is "only available to female participants, based on their biological sex". The bill also requires that any sports team or sport sponsored or endorsed by most government educational entities "must be explicitly identified" as male, female, or mixed.
The draft law stipulates that it is "a law to promote ongoing justice in women's sport." He had previously crossed the South Dakota home 50-17 in late February. The Senate State Affairs Committee later rejected it, but it was revived last week after a full vote on the ground.
