Google, Facebook Inc and Twitter Inc discriminate against conservative viewpoints and suppress free
Republican senators said Wednesday that Google, Facebook Inc and Twitter Inc. discriminated against the conservative approach and suppressed freedom of expression, suggesting that antitrust action may be a solution.
Senator Ted Cruz, who presides over the subcommittee of the Senate Judiciary, said that many Americans believe that large technical companies are biased against orthodoxy and point to some real examples. Although no one wants "government speech police", he said that there are other measures.
“If we have tech companies using the powers of monopoly to censor political speech, I think that raises real antitrust issues,” Cruz said at a U.S. Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing.
Facebook, Twitter and Google have denied that their platform has a political bias, and Democrats said there is no evidence of claims of Republican prejudice, although Democrats have criticized companies for other reasons.
