Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced several reforms Friday aimed at ensuring election integrity.
The legislation will also enhance transparency in the counting process, allowing political parties and candidates to monitor the signature matching process.
Counties can no longer receive grants from private third-party organizations for "get a vote" initiatives.
The intention, Desantis said, is to ensure "citizens' confidence in elections."
"We want everyone to vote, and we don't want anyone to cheat," he said, adding that he wanted to "strike the right balance."
DeSantis has indicated that paying to collect ballot papers is already illegal in the state but said it is not currently targeting those who "volunteer" to collect ballots.
