Chris Pratt announces engagement to Katherine Schwarzenegger
Chris Pratt, the star of "Jurassic World" and Katherine Schwarzenegger are engaged to be married, the actor announced on Monday.
Pratt, 39, revealed on Instagram that Schwarzenegger, the 29-year-old daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger, accepted his proposal.
“Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!” he captioned with a diamond ring emoji.
The “Avengers” star began dating Schwarzenegger earlier last year. Pratt finalized his divorce from ex-wife actress Anna Faris in October 2018. They were married for 9 years and share together their 6-year-old son, Jack.
Pratt was rumored to be dating Schwarzenegger since June of 2018 following his high-profile divorce. However, despite all the rumors and public outings, they only made their relationship official to the public in mid-December. The "Guardians of the Galaxy" star posted a collage of photos of Katherine along with a sweet caption celebrating her 29th birthday.
"Happy Birthday Chief! Your smile lights up the room. I’ve cherished our time together. Thrilled God put you in my life. Thankful for the laughs, kisses, talks, hikes, love and care," he wrote.
So far, Schwarzenegger has not commented on the engagement on her social media.
Pratt's ex-wife, however, recently opened up about the end of their marriage and what it's like to be co-parents to their son now that they've both moved on with different people.
“Chris and I work really hard ‘cause we have Jack, that is sort of the long game idea and making sure Jack is really happy, which makes us really happy,” Faris says on her “Unqualified” podcast. “We have sort of the luxury of circumstance. You know, we are both in other loving relationships. … But It’s like, how do you not in general sink into a place of bitterness?”
