California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed the legislation into law on Wednesday making his State the primary within the country to ban discrimination towards herbal hair.

Senate Bill 188, which was later surpassed by a unanimous margin in each the California state assembly and senate, will formally upload hair-based total discrimination related to race to the State's anti-discrimination regulation.

the Bill textual content states that "the records of our nation are riddled with laws and societal norms that equated 'blackness,' and the associated physical trends, as an example, darkish skin, kinky and curly hair to a badge of inferiority, every so often subject to separate and unequal remedy."
