British Prime Minister Theresa May under pressure to rule out long Brexit delay
A letter signed by 170 out of 330 conservative lawmakers in parliament, including 10 cabinet ministers, was sent to May after the House of Commons rejected the Brexit agreement for the third time on Friday, the newspaper reported.
The vote left Britain's withdrawal from the European Union in turmoil on the day the country was originally forced to leave the bloc.
May raised the possibility of a long delay in Brexit from the European Union because of the stalemate in parliament where it did not get the majority. Many legislators have long demanded that they leave the EU immediately.
Britain has less than two weeks to convince the other 27 EU countries that they can resolve this impasse, or risk leaving the bloc on April 12 without any agreement to ease the economic impact.
