Biden defends border policy between the U.S. and Mexico at the first White House press conference
President Joe Biden defended his policy of sheltering unaccompanied children crossing the US border from Mexico on Thursday at a press conference as he was repeatedly pressured over his handling of immigration issues.
Biden also set a new goal of giving 200 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in the United States in his first 100 days in office, and he made economic progress by holding his first single press conference since taking office.
Biden, who appeared in the White House's East Room, said his initial goal of giving 100 million vaccines in his first 100 days in office was achieved last week, 42 days ahead of schedule.
