Appeals court rejects Rep. Louie Gohmert lawsuit to have Mike Pence overturn Joe Biden's win

On Saturday, a federal appeals court rejected a motion by a Republican congressman to allow Vice President Mike Pence to nullify President-elect Joe Biden's November 3 victory in favor of President Trump.

In a brief order, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit affirmed Friday that a federal judge had dismissed the lawsuit filed by U.S. Rep. Louis Gohmert, which argued that Pence had the power to nullify Biden's victory when Congress meets to ratify Wednesday's results.
